Pride March Victoria recognizes and celebrates the people and events that inspire the courage, solidarity, pride, diversity and strong sense of community of Victoria’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, intersex, and transgender people.
The annual Pride March is a signature event and celebrates a bright future while preserving our history. It is a key date on Victoria’s cultural calendar and a destination for interstate and international visitors.
Supported the successful delivery of the Pride March by coordinating the festival’s volunteer program and assisting the production department with on-the-ground operations.
Volunteer Coordination
- Developed volunteer position descriptions, rosters, and briefing materials
- Organised and delivered volunteer briefings and training sessions
- Maintained volunteer resource platforms and communication channels
- Liaised with departments and volunteers regarding scheduling and duties
- Supervised volunteers during rostered shifts to ensure efficient event delivery
- Provided support in bar operations as required
Production Assistance
- Assisted with bump-in and bump-out of event infrastructure and equipment
- Acted as a marshal at route intersections under the direction of Victoria Police
- Supported bar operations, including beverage service and cash handling
Role Legacy
Contributed to the delivery of one of Victoria’s key LGBTQIA+ community events, fostering collaboration, safety, and celebration throughout the march.
