The Role
Supported the delivery of the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Asia Pacific Outgames at the Melbourne Town Hall — a celebration of over 1,500 LGBTI athletes from across the Asia Pacific. Coordinated between creative, technical, and production teams so the competitors could be celebrated in style.

- Liaised with artists and performers to manage rehearsal schedules
- Maintained company contact and communication lists
- Developed the vision package outlining ceremony content and technical cues
- Executed the vision package during the live performance

About This Project
The 1st Asia Pacific Outgames was a multi-sport tournament, a human rights conference and cultural event that embraced the Asia Pacific’s gay and lesbian community and its friends. The successful event attracted over 1,500 participants, involved thousands of spectators and was a highlight event of the Midsumma Festival and Pride March for the summer of 2008.
Sports tournaments at the 1st Asia Pacific Outgames included Badminton, Dancesport, Hockey, Lawn Bowls, Rowing, Run, Squash, Swimming, Ten Pin Bowling, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo. The 1st Asia Pacific Outgames also presented Rainbow Conversations, a two day GLBTI human rights conference which featured the most remarkable and diverse group of activists, academics and community leaders ever gathered in Melbourne.
