Setting up repeatable, scalable systems for managing shows, crew, and logistics across venues or on the road.

What this is

Touring and producing companies often build their company management systems show by show, which means every new production starts somewhere near zero. Travel, accommodation, payroll, compliance, welfare — all of it gets reinvented. Production and touring support is about putting that infrastructure in place once, properly, so each new tour starts ahead instead of behind.

This is the work I’ve spent most of my career inside — Annie, Moulin Rouge!, Tina, Jagged Little Pill, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, A Christmas Carol — so I know where the gaps and pressure points actually are.

What’s included

  • Company management frameworks — onboarding, contracts, communications, welfare, compliance with the Live Performance Award and PCA
  • Touring logistics systems — travel, accommodation, per diems, cast and crew movements
  • Financial controls — petty cash, payroll, weekly reconciliations, reporting templates
  • Safety and welfare — WorkCover processes, injury management, incident reporting
  • Knowledge transfer — clear written procedures so the next CM, ACM or DCM can step in without losing two weeks to ramp-up

Who it’s for

Producers, presenters, and touring companies who plan to run more than one production a year and want a consistent operational standard across them. Also useful for one-off productions that are scaling beyond what the team has done before.

Typical engagement

  • Duration: variable — from a 2-week pre-tour set-up to ongoing season-by-season retainer
  • Format: project-based, with on-site involvement during set-up phases
  • Pricing: day rate or project rate, depending on scope

Get in touch

If you’ve got a production coming up where the operational ground feels uneven, I’d be glad to talk it through.
